To provide a forum for residents of the Town of Onancock to voice their concerns about town initiatives and effectively communicate with Town officials (Mayor and Council members).

• Encourage transparency with Onancock Town Council regarding town initiatives

• Have a voice in the Town of Onancock master plan

• Seek out qualified candidates for Town Council representation

As residents who are interested in both the preservation of Onancock’s quiet beauty and the necessity of ensuring its relevance to life in the 21st century, we are primarily concerned with civic engagement.  Civic engagement, to quote President George W. Bush, “refers to the ways in which citizens participate in the life of a community in order to improve conditions for others or to help shape the community’s future.” 

Transparency and trust between our Town government and its residents are essential for civic engagement to be successful and we anticipate working with all Onancock citizens towards that goal.
